Step-by-step guide to plugging your WhatsApp Business number into EmirVoice via Meta's Cloud API.
6 min read ยท whatsapp
EmirVoice connects directly to Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API โ no relay, no middleman.
What you need
- A Meta Business Account
- A WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
- A phone number you control (or get a free Meta test number to start)
Steps
- Open the dashboard โ Messenger โ WhatsApp โ "Connect with Meta"
- Sign in to Facebook with the account that owns your business
- Pick the WABA and phone number
- Approve permissions: messages, calling, templates, business management
- You're connected. EmirVoice writes the webhook URL automatically โ no copy-pasting required.
Test it
Send a message to your number from your personal WhatsApp. The AI replies within 2-3 seconds.
Common issues
- "No phone numbers available": your WABA has no verified number yet. Add one in Meta Business Manager first.
- "Display name not approved": Meta is reviewing. Usually 24h. Calls/messages still work, just shows the number instead of your business name.
- No reply to test message: check the assistant is set to "active" and the WhatsApp config has assistant_id set.
Voice calls on WhatsApp
After connecting, voice calls are auto-enabled. Customers can call your business from inside WhatsApp. The AI picks up just like a normal call.
