Templates let you message customers outside the 24h care window.
Why templates matter
Free-form WhatsApp messages only work within 24h of the customer's last reply. After that, you must use an approved template.
Authoring inside EmirVoice
Go to Messenger โ Templates โ New Template. Choose:
- Category: UTILITY (transactional), MARKETING (promotional), AUTHENTICATION (OTP)
- Name: lowercase slug like
property_followup_v1 - Language: en, ar, etc.
- Body: with
{{1}},{{2}}for variables
Submit. The template goes to Meta for review (~15 min to 24h).
Status updates
Webhook updates the cached row in real-time. The dropdown in your sequence editor reflects the new status without refresh.
Common rejection reasons
- Marketing tone in a UTILITY template
- Promotional content without explicit opt-out
- Too many emojis or all-caps
- Generic placeholder text not relevant to your business
