WhatsApp Approved Templates

Templates let you message customers outside the 24h care window.

Why templates matter

Free-form WhatsApp messages only work within 24h of the customer's last reply. After that, you must use an approved template.

Authoring inside EmirVoice

Go to Messenger โ†’ Templates โ†’ New Template. Choose:

  • Category: UTILITY (transactional), MARKETING (promotional), AUTHENTICATION (OTP)
  • Name: lowercase slug like property_followup_v1
  • Language: en, ar, etc.
  • Body: with {{1}}, {{2}} for variables

Submit. The template goes to Meta for review (~15 min to 24h).

Status updates

Webhook updates the cached row in real-time. The dropdown in your sequence editor reflects the new status without refresh.

Common rejection reasons

  • Marketing tone in a UTILITY template
  • Promotional content without explicit opt-out
  • Too many emojis or all-caps
  • Generic placeholder text not relevant to your business
